This is where the Eau Claire Drum & Bugle Corps story began. Walter E. Brown started a Boy Scout band in 1952, as an extension of Troop 150. They initially participated only in local parades and Boy Scout musical activities. The evolution into a drum and bugle corps began in 1956, when bugles were added to an instrumentation that also included trombones and trumpets. By 1957, the Scouts were a drum & bugle corps - soon to change their name to Eau Claire Boys in 1959.
